DESCRIPTION:  \nOn behalf of the Board of Directors and all the staff at GreenAllies\, I would like to invite you\, your family\, and friends\, to our annual Student Awards Ceremony on May 31st from 3:30 – 5:00PM at the Althouse Arboretum. \n  \nThis awards ceremony is designed to recognize the outstanding contribution by our Student Leadership Team throughout this past school year.  While we will be recognizing each student individually\, as a group\, they have had some impressive successes this past year: \n  \n\nFor the first time ever\, THREE events with over 400 people attending\nHarvested over 2\,000 lbs of vegetables for families in need at our farm\nHosted over 20 community programs at the Althouse Arboretum\nRan a Summer Camp program for over 350 kids\nRan programs that were attended by over 2\,000 community members\nGave over 1\,850 hours of volunteer time this school year so far\nAnd\, of course\, helped build our new Conservatory building.\n\n  \nThis was all a result of the hard work from this amazing team of students under the leadership of a very special senior class.  Together\, this team was one of the most influential teams ever to come through the GreenAllies program

DESCRIPTION:Find rare\, unusual\, and funky plants from a number of growers! This sale is where plant lovers gather to hunt for plants that are hard to find\, visually strange\, or especially collectible. Plants not normally found in nurseries! We will also have a selection of native plants\, herbs and vegetable! \nAll this and our annual NATIVE PLANT and MORE sale going on at the same time! \nThere is a $5 charge per car for all vehicles arriving between 9 and 10am.  After 10am admission is free.

SUMMARY:Ribbon-Cutting for our New Conservatory and GreenCup!
DESCRIPTION:The Old and the New \nJoin us in celebration of one of our greatest accomplishments!  The Conservatory/GreenCup is a small community building that will serve as our classroom and meeting space.  It will also host a small donation-only cafe.  The entire project was planned and designed by our Student Leadership Team.  Their countless hours of work on the new building makes this one of our greatest legacy projects. \nIn addition\, will be be dedicating the old 1700’s farmhouse.  The Althouse Farmhouse was our original building that is our “base of operations” for the past 10 years and will continue into the future.  Join the Althouse Family for a brief ceremony dedicating the farmhouse. \nAll begins at 10 am and is followed by refreshments!

DESCRIPTION:Thank you for supporting us and our nonprofit partners!!! \nGreenAllies will again host our popular Community Recycling Day on March 14th at the Althouse Arboretum.  This is a DRIVE THROUGH event.  Just drive to the Althouse Arboretum with your materials and our student volunteers will remove them from your vehicle and recycle them properly. \nWe will be collecting: \nLarge Appliances (refrigerator\, freezer\, ovens) Any large appliance.  We will even take grills. \nPLEASE:  No vaccuum cleaners\, coffee makers\, hair dryers\, and other small plastic appliances that don’t work \nALL Scrap Metal    Anything made mostly of metal.  Old wires\, nails\, aluminum siding\, shelves\, tire rims\, etc… \nPLEASE:  Remove all fluids from any lawnmower or power equipment.  (Details for 2026 Hazardous Waste Collection will be provided) \nMicrowaves \nLaptops \nCell Phones \nipads \nComputer ink cartridges   Please make sure they are ink cartridges and not the larger toner cartridges! \nClothing   See below for details \nShoes \nHousehold Goods  (no furniture\, pillows\, bedding\, or unusable items)  Toys\, good electronics\, working small appliances\, household decorations\, shelves and more! \nWE ARE ALSO COLLECTING BICYCLES! \nBicycles!    We are teaming up with the nonprofit Bike and Sol a nearby nonprofit to collect used bikes to be provided to kids and families in need. \nWE ARE ALSO COLLECTING PET SUPPLIES \nPet Supplies and Equipment    We are teaming up with Animal House Project to collect pet supplies to be donated to shelters. \n  \nClothing Details from our Recycler: \nAdult & Children Clothing\, Shoes\, Handbags\, Sandals\, Sneakers\, Boots\, Jackets\, Coats\, Rain Gear\, Leathers\, Belts\, Ties\, Pants\, Shirts\, Sweaters\, Vests\, Blouses\, Dresses\, Skirts\, Robes\, Undergarments\, Sheets\, Towels\, Linens\, Tablecloths\, Hats\, Scarfs\, Gloves\, Purses\, Wallets\, Jewelry\, Watches\, Uniforms\, Jerseys\, Backpacks and New Diapers and NOW ACCEPTING Household Items\, Utensils\, Hard & Soft Toys\, Electronics\, Handicap Equipment & Small Bric-A-Brac Items. \n* What We Don’t Accept: Thrift Store Goods\, Flea Market Goods\, Furniture\, Books\, Yard Sales or Sorted merchandise that has been picked through or separated which the better goods have been taken out as well as pillows & curtains. SUMMARY:Youth Empowerment Day
DESCRIPTION:TCN (TriCounty Network) and its Youth Engagement Committee is sponsoring a special day to promote student volunteering at regional nonprofits.  It all about connecting students to volunteer opportunities! \nPerfect chance for all your service organizations to find volunteer opportunities! \nStudents will participate in brief morning workshops to promote volunteerism by helping them understand the important role volunteers play and how they can find their volunteer passion.  Workshops are followed by a FREE lunch and Nonprofit Fair.  We have about 20 LOCAL nonprofits participating. Each student will get an opportunity to visit and talk to these great partners!  We expect up to 100 students from the regional high schools to attend. \nThere is no cost to participate.  Plus\, FREE bus!  (One bus per school) for schools with more than 15 participants \nDetails for the day: \n\nStudents don’t need to bring anything\, however\, the entire event is outside so they should dress for the weather.\nA pre-paid bus will be at your school ready for pick-up at 9AM.\nThere will be nearly 20 adult volunteers from the various youth nonprofit partners to help make sure the program runs smoothly.\nBuses will be returning to the schools at 1:30 PM.\n\nItinerary: \n9:30 AM   Welcome\, Introductions\, Instructions and a brief address from High School volunteers \n9:45 – Noon:  Rotation through workshops:  Focus on Student Volunteerism \nNoon to 1:15   Lunch and Nonprofit Fair \n  \nTO SET UP YOUR SCHOOL’s PARTICIPATION contact Ken Hamilton  by email at ken@green-allies.org or call/text 267-371-2288.  Just let us know you will be part of the event and provide contact information.  We will do the rest! \n
