Youth Empowerment Day

TCN (TriCounty Network) and its Youth Engagement Committee is sponsoring a special day to promote student volunteering at regional nonprofits.  It all about connecting students to volunteer opportunities!

Perfect chance for all your service organizations to find volunteer opportunities!

Students will participate in brief morning workshops to promote volunteerism by helping them understand the important role volunteers play and how they can find their volunteer passion.  Workshops are followed by a FREE lunch and Nonprofit Fair.  We have about 20 LOCAL nonprofits participating. Each student will get an opportunity to visit and talk to these great partners!  We expect up to 100 students from the regional high schools to attend.

There is no cost to participate.  Plus, FREE bus!  (One bus per school) for schools with more than 15 participants

Details for the day:

1. Students don’t need to bring anything, however, the entire event is outside so they should dress for the weather.
2. A pre-paid bus will be at your school ready for pick-up at 9AM.
3. There will be nearly 20 adult volunteers from the various youth nonprofit partners to help make sure the program runs smoothly.
4. Buses will be returning to the schools at 1:30 PM.

Itinerary:

9:30 AM   Welcome, Introductions, Instructions and a brief address from High School volunteers

9:45 – Noon:  Rotation through workshops:  Focus on Student Volunteerism

Noon to 1:15   Lunch and Nonprofit Fair
